Suz,  predisone is not fun in taking when you are a diabetic.  I have to agree with Ruth and increase the basal rate.  I have been on that medication and trust me it is not fun.  You won't see any change in your blood sugar readings until that medication is totally out of your system.  Meanwhile, you still have to increase the dosage until you have somewhat better numbers.  They may be in the high 100's or possibly low 200's which is not great but it is a lot better than 3-400 or possible 500.  I don't use the ping but rather on the paradigm Medtronic.  You will have to raise the basal rate to 1.0 or 1.25 around the clock.  Just make sure you write down what the basal rate was before it was changed.  Once that medication is out of your system you don't want to bottom out or land in the ER.          JofNile
