To add to everything that is going on in my life my precious girl Tawney has passed away.
Tawn was ten and a half and was a german shepherd x bull mastiff x rhodesian ridgeback.
My k-9 soul mate passed away Friday morning; I was not there. She managed to get herself to the laundry, where it seems she yelped and collapsed on the laundry floor. My older daughter Tanya didn't know what was going on until Tawneys bowels just let go on the laundry floor. Tan rang me straight away and told me I better get home as something was very wrong with my darling.
I asked her to ring a vet while Lisa and I made our way back home. Tanya told the vet on the phone what was happening with Tawney................the vet apologises and said I am very sorry but your dog is dying. Tanya had been stroking her tummy and stroking her head; so thank God above Tawney knew that my Tanya was there with her. My heart aches that I was not with her when she died, but so grateful that Tanya was there. I do believe Tawney made her way to the laundry from the shed because she was sick and did not want to be alone.
My precious girl is now buried down the back, wrapped in the pink blanket that she slept on.
"Your eyes so full of love for me, always pierced my soul and made tears come to my eyes. Your unconditional love will never be forgotten, and I will always be grateful for it my sweet friend. Your love transcended anything I had ever seen before with dogs in my life. I did not deserve you, I never felt good enough for you. Never enough time for you. And you did not deserve me, you deserved better. But at the end of the day, you knew I loved you so hopefully I will be able to get through life knowing you knew this. Our eyes will meet again, and it will not be soon enough my darling".
