I noticed that when I did a sleep study and they gave me Lunesta I was horribly depressed the next day. I was also prescribed another sleep aid
because of the alpha intrusions that they saw in the sleep study. The same thing happened when I took this other RX sleep aid (can't recall the name.)
Anyway, with chronic health issues I think depression can be a risk or at least a risk that can hover in the background. It just made me wonder how many
people out there use RX sleep aides and have mood (depression, anxiety, etc.) that is actually a side affect of these drugs and don't even realize it? My
sis-in-law started taking an RX sleep aid about a year ago and had mentioned a few times to me that she was feeling really depressed. At this time I
didn't connect the two things, but then I remembered how I felt and wondered if it was possible that the way she was feeling was connected to the sleep
aid?
Just curious if anyone else has noticed this or if you aware of information about it? I take a low dose of Tramadol now and don't have any problems with sleep. I also cut back my night dose of Lantus which of course reduced lows and that helped a lot too!
